Day 01: July 13, 2011

The kids are asleep, the doors are locked and bolted, my shot gun is loaded, and I am ready for bed as well. I pray to the good lord above us – if there is one – that no more children are taken tonight. Please, don’t let mine be next…

Before I turn in though, since this is my first entry in what I guess will be a log of events from now until the terror is over, I will explain what we are afraid of.

I don’t exactly know what it is, but then again, no one does. The only thing we know right now is that it takes children, and no matter how long or hard we look, there is no trace of them ever again. The reason I call the thing an “it” is because we’re not even sure that it’s human. Sure, people have claimed it had a human-like figure, but so do aliens. We both walk on two legs and stand upright; the only difference is they’re smarter. You know, maybe this thing is an alien. Maybe we’ve been looking at it wrong this whole time!

Whoa there, Jason. Calm down. You’re getting a little ahead of yourself. Okay, so, back to what “it” is. I myself haven’t seen it personally, but others have. Right before they had their kids whisked away, they said it stared right at them. While the kids were screaming and struggling to get free from its grip, the thing just…Stared at them.

That has to be the most terrifying experience I have ever heard of. Of course, it was shrouded in shadow, so all they could really see was its…You know, come to think of it, they never mentioned any menacing eyes. They just said they felt like they were being stared at with its eyes, but they never were able to describe what they looked like. I never took notice of that before, but now it seem kind of—hold on, my youngest is crying. Let me go check on him. I’ve said enough, so I’ll write more tomorrow morning.
